Fat-1 - Gima

FAT-1 is an economic and precise body fat caliper, made in Italy.
The skinfold caliper measures the thickness of the skin folds in various parts of the body, according to the characteristics of the instrument designed by Tanner and Whitehouse:

• pressure exerted on the fold: approximately 10 g/mm2
• contact surface on the skinfold: approx. 6 x 11 mm

On the upper edge of the caliper there is a scale in millimeters on which an arrow moves which immediately measures the fold (triceps, subscapularis, etc.) with an approximation of about 1/2mm. Simultaneously with the measurement, the colored bands inserted near said scale allow the measured value to be compared with the reference percentiles distinct for men and women.
